A mother is brushing her daughter’s [h/c] locks. They share jokes, and tell stories. It is actually one of the few days the Queen can spend time with her daughter.
“Mama, you have to go back to work soon, right? I don’t want you to leave. We’re having so much fun!” The toddler squeaked.
Her mother laughed. “Yes, [Name], I know. But duties must come first before play. You know that.”
“Aw, Mom! C’mon, C’mon! Just one more story before you leave!”
“There isn’t any more time for stories, [Name].”
“Aww!”
“Sorry, sweetie.”
“..Hmm. Hey, [Name], come with me. I want to tell you a secret.”
The child’s [e/c] eyes glisten and widen in curiosity. “Really? A secret?”
“Yes, that only us girls can know. Follow me.”
The little girl walks beside her mother, and they reach the palace gardens.
“[Name]. Promise me something.”
“Anything, Mama!”
The Queen chuckles slightly. Such innocence. She then sighs. “[Name], when it’s time for you to rule this kingdom, there’s no doubt you’ll be betrothed, just like I was. What I’m saying is, [Name], is that when the time comes, don’t let anybody stop you. Me, your father, no one.”
“What do you mean, Mama?”
“I mean, [Name], that when the time comes…”
“I’m not doing it.”
“You have no say in this, young lady. You’ll do as I say and marry the man I have arraigned for you.”
“You don’t control me, Father! I’m not your pawn anymore; I’m a grown woman! I can make my own choices and marry who I want. Not what you want!”
“How dare you protest me, [Name]! You think that just because your mother is dead, the whole world revolves around you! You will listen to me. I will not here another word about this!”
“This has nothing to do with mom! At least she cared about me. All you care about is keeping your stupid social status!”
“This man may not be royalty, but he has a high, respected noble status! He can provide for you, [Name]!”
“I’m not going to marry that slob! I can provide for myself, Dad!”
“I don’t want you near those-those commoners! They're despicable!”
“How would you know!? All you’ve ever done was look down on them as they pleaded for mercy. You’re heartless!”
“It’s their own damn fault, and they should stay in their place! You as well [Name]!”
“I wish you died instead of Mom!”
“Enough! Just marry the man, [Name]! If you marry any of those low-lives, they’ll just tear you down with them! They’re just trash that takes up space and sacrifice themselves to the Titans for us.”
“How corrupted can you be!? They’re human beings, just like us! You’re horrible!"
“And you’re stubborn! How many times must I tell you to stay in your place, [Name]!? I forbid you to keep seeing that man. He’ll just put you in danger.”
“You don’t know anything about him! Who I marry has nothing do to with you, Father!”
“You’ll be ruling a kingdom! The man I’ve arraigned for you will be suited for a k-“
“I’ve had enough. Bickering isn’t going to get us anywhere. Father, I’ll tell you one last time. I’m going to marry the man whom I choose. I know Mom is looking down on us right now, wishing we’d shut up.”
“You can just tell that..man he’s wasting his time.”
“I will do no such thing.”
“Then goodbye, Father.”
“..What?”
“I’m leaving. If you can’t accept my decisions, then there’s no point for me to be here anymore until my coronation. The two of us promised to be together, and I vow to keep that promise.”
You turn around, your back facing the middle aged man.
“Adieu. Until we meet again.”
“Wait, [Name]!” You run down the hall, with the people eavesdropping watching you.
“My Lady!”
“Princess [Name]!”
“Hey, little lady, we’re ya goin!?”
Your father, servants, maids, guards, and many others call your name. Although your father chases you to the castle doors, you kept running. You stole a horse from the royal stable, and ran as fast as you can, not looking back.
“Levi…” you whisper. You kept moving forward. “Don’t let anyone stop you.” A single tear slides down your cheek as you remember the secret you and your mother shared that day. You slightly tap your horse, signaling it to go faster.
“…I’m coming.”
“…I want you to live your life, okay? I don’t want you to end up living miserably with some narcissistic man for the rest of your days. At least, not like I am. I couldn’t live with myself seeing you on the altar with some man who only cares about wealth and fame, pretty much like your father.”
“…?”
“I know you’re too young to fully grasp the situation, but for now, just don’t rush into anything. It doesn’t hurt to listen, but you should do what you need to depending on what you think is right.”
“Like a judge?”
“Ha, I suppose. But, [Name], everyone has that inner voice. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. Pinky promise me, [Name], that when it’s time to make your decision…
…You’ll follow your heart.”

The summer breeze floated through the courtyard, rustling the silky drapes that covered the archways. The zephyr managed to slip through your (h/c) locks and disturb them from their set curls. Yet you smiled and reached up, running a hand through your hair in an effort to disturb them further. One hand rested on the book in your lap, the pages rustling from the wind.
As the breeze stilled, bird songs returned to the trees and terraces around you. A call sounded above you, in the tree that you rested in the shade of. You glanced up, happy to find a sparrow resting in the branches.
"Good morning" You murmured with a smile. The bird regarded y

“Enjoying the view?” I asked in a snide tone, tossing the question over my shoulder, as I stretched across the wooden table I was currently cleaning with a damp rag. Call it female intuition but I could practically feel a pair of eyes fixated on my ass.
“Immensely.” The answer muffed slightly as he was no doubt taking a drink, it was clearly heard by my ears in the empty dining hall.
I expected nothing but blatant honesty from the dark haired man that sat lounging in a wooden chair, a few tables away.
“So is it the cleaning of the table or my bending and st

"Good morning, heichou!" a familiar voice greeted. It was cadet [f/n] [l/n] whom greeted me. She smiled sweetly at me and I nodded to acknowledge her greeting. I didn't know what to say... I hope I didn't blush.
"Oi, cadet..you have bed hair." my expression remained stoic. But hers quickly changed into a flustered one and she laughed nervously.
"Please keep it a secret, heichou." she gestured the shushing with her hand. My brain was frozen for a second, I didn't
